Margaret "Jerry" Geraldine Hampton

Margaret Geraldine “Jerry” Hampton was born on July 27, 1930 in Ashland, Ohio.  She was the daughter of Miles H. Cain and Elizabeth Clara (Glover) Cain. On July 30, 1949 she married Nelson Hampton in Greenup, Kentucky.  They later moved to Pryor, Oklahoma where they raised their family.  Along with raising her children and caring for her family, Jerry worked as kitchen staff with Steak ‘N Shake restaurant.  Jerry was also a member of the North Elliott Church of God in Pryor. 

Jerry and her family moved to Hollister from Pryor in 1995 and she currently resided in Branson. 

Jerry entered into rest on Friday, October 13 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Nelson Hampton, Sr.; her son, Nelson Hampton, Jr; her brother Bobby Cain and one sister, Elizabeth Keeley.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Steele of Branson; her sister, Rea Sanders of South Carolina; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 18 from 6:00-7:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson.  Visitation will also take place on Thursday, October 19 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. in North Elliott Church of God in Pryor, OK with the funeral to follow at 2:00 P.M. in the church.  Sister Linda Treas will officiate.  Burial will be in Graham Cemetery in Pryor.
