Dal Leon Burton, Sr.June 12, 1925 ~ September 21, 2017 (age 92)
Dal Leon Burton, Sr. was born on June 12, 1925 in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was the son of Russell and Bernice (Niebert) Burton.
Dal served two terms in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II as a navigator and pilot. He served his country again in the United States Airforce during the Korean War also as a pilot.
Dal married his loving wife Maxine on June 30, 1945 in Salinas, California. He worked for General Motors in Indiana as a tool and die master.
Dal had lived many years in Rockaway Beach. He attended Ozark Mountain Christian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. Dal was involved with the Senior Center in Forsyth and greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Rockaway Beach.
He entered into rest on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Bennett House in New Albany, IN at the age of 92.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Maxine Burton; his son, Dal Burton, Jr; and one grandson, Kevin.
Dal is survived by his two sons, Steven Burton and wife Nancy of Indianapolis, IN and Gregory Burton and wife Becky of New Albany, IN; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dal Burton will be Monday, Sept. 25 at 10AM in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Pastor Allen Minor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Military honors will be by the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 913 and the United States Air Force.
