Charaign Gertrude Waterhouse

Charaign Gertrude Castle Waterhhouse was born on November 2, 1921 in Fairfield, Iowa to Frances Parrott Castle and King Philip Castle.

Charaign married Carl Waterhouse on October 19, 1940 and were married four months short of 60 years.  Charaign lived in Ottumwa, Iowa as they raised their 3 children.  Charaign was extremely active in Eastern Star, White Shrine and Order of Amaranth.

After moving to the Branson area, Charaign was instrumental in the creation of Pines Community Christian Church in Blue Eye and the development of Oakmont Residential Area.

Charaign entered into rest on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center in Branson--one month short of her ninety-sixth birthday. She is survived by her children, Michael Waterhouse (and wife Janice) from Eagan, MN, Sue Ann West and Polly Rannells of Ridgedale, 2 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren as well as great and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the Pines Community Christian Church on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. Arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
