“Duke” Myers Aug 29, 1953 in Chanute, Ks.  They met at the Chanute Swimming Pool where Duke looked forward to attending every weekend when he would come into town just to see her, and admired how well she could dive.

Beverly and Roy “Duke” had celebrated sixty-four years together this past fall.  They were blessed with three children, Mike, Kathy, & Karen.  She was a long time resident of Chanute, KS. and later, upon Duke’s retirement resided in Corpus Christi, Texas for serval years, finally settling in Saddlebrooke, Mo. in 2016 where she enjoyed the peace and beautiful nature of the Ozarks as well as being surrounded daily by her precious great-grands Mailyn and Irelyn.      Beverly was a devoted stay-at-home Mother and Homemaker.  Her life was devoted to serving others in any capacity that she could.  She was selfless, giving, compassionate, endearing, appreciative, easy-going, and dedicated herself to her family and the needs of others.  Beverly was a long-time volunteer to many different organizations including the Red Cross Blood Mobile and The Chanute Hospital.  She was an accomplished member of The Order of Eastern Star, Sunflower Chapter #147 where she served many offices, she also served the Grand Chapter of Kansas as District Aide and serving on the credentials committee. Some of her specialties were her famous cinnamon rolls, tea time tessies, rum cake, chocolate sheet cake and icing, sugar cookies, and snickerdoodles.  Of course everything was made from scratch and always with love.   She also enjoyed birds of all kinds, and in the last year of her life especially enjoyed watching cardinals, turtle doves, and the beautiful birds in Saddlebrooke.

She never forgot a birthday, a special date or milestone.  She was the precise definition of the  “Matriarch” of her family. She especially loved Christmas time and always made it incredibly special for all.  She handmade each and every child and grandchild’s stocking and all looked forward to Christmas morning to see what Gram had chosen for each family member.  She loved making every event, holiday, or occasion special and she did just that!
