William Eugene “Bill” Estes, 88 of Branson, entered into rest on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Tablerock Healthcare in Kimberling City. The family will hold private graveside services at the National Cemetery in Springfield with Mark Shaffer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Directors, Branson.
Bill Estes was born on July 12, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri to Milton J. Estes and Hazel R. (Forrester) Estes, both precede him in death. He had lived in Huntsville, Alabama and Wichita, Kansas before making his home in Branson. Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force at Keesler Air Force Base and Chanute Air Force Base. He went on to work in engineering for Boeing Aircraft.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Estes in 1993. In 1994 he married Kathryn “Katy” Buzan Estes in Eureka Springs, AR. She also precedes him in death.
Bill was a lifetime member of the Kansas Masonic Lodge, Wichita, KS, Mystic Tie Lodge #74. Bill was also a Shriner and member of the American Legion and Branson Christian Church. He greatly enjoyed traveling and he also loved spending time with his family.
Bill is survived by his children, William Estes, Jr. (Pam) of Denton, TX, Charles “Chuck” Estes of Ft. Smith, AR, Don Estes (Carol) of St. Charles, MO, Ron Estes (Ellen) of Wichita, KS, Cathy Gorham (Robert) of Branson, and Cindy Zeller (Bill) of Branson; brother, James Estes (Shirley) of Seattle, WA along with thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in memory of Bill.
