William Velting III went home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 2025 at the age of 71. He struggled for the past 10 years after his Aortic Dissection in 2015. Bill lost the ability to walk during this time yet strengthened his walk with Christ through the pain. His family grew during this time and he is remembered by his wife of 49 years, Jan, his three sons, William (Ashley), Brent (Martha), and Justin (Kelly), and five precious grandchildren, Caitlyn, Charlie, William V (Liam), Vivian, and Arie. Also survived by his sister Patty (Dennis), Ken (Marcia) and his brother-in-law, Ron (Julie) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William II and Vivian Velting and his brother Roger, and his in-laws, Andy and Verna Heethuis. Bill and Jan are devoted followers of Christ and were raised and married in Berean Bible Church. They were founding members of Celebration Bible Church and now attend Up and Out Ministries in Mears.
Bill was a changed man physically, emotionally, and spiritually. His attitude throughout his physical issues was inspiring and made his family and friends proud. After years of hospitalization, medication, and constant set-backs, he is finally without pain in the arms of his Savior.
His memorial service will be held at Celebration Bible Church, 4690 8th Ave, Grandville, MI 49418 on Saturday, April 26th at 3:00 PM. Donations can be made to Up and Out Ministries, PO Box 154, Mears MI 49436.
