William Hartline Obituary

Graveside services for William Hartline, 93 of Warrensburg formerly of Branson, will be Friday, October 9, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery.

William K. Hartline was born November 9, 1926 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Vance Norman Hartline and Alpha Elizabeth (Carpenter) Hartline.  He entered the United States Army in 1945 from his home in Poplar Bluff.  He proudly served with the 127th Engineers 11th Airborne Division during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.  On August 15, 1948 he married his sweetheart, Celena Mae Dean in Waterloo, Iowa.  They raised their family in Waterloo and William worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing.  After retiring, William and Celena moved to Branson.

William was an active Army veteran.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW and Amvets.  He was also very community and service minded.  He volunteered with Cox Medical Center Branson from May 1996 to September 2012 and was awarded by the hospital a lifetime membership for his service.  William also gave back to the community by always helping in the critical need of giving blood.  He was also a loved dad, grandpa, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

William entered into rest on Monday, September 28 in Warrensburg, MO where he had lived the past year to be closer to family.  He was 93 years old.

William was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Celena Mae Hartline; one son, Vance Hartline; four brothers and two sisters.

William is survived by his children, Dean Hartline (Janice) of Linden, TN, Craig Hartline (Gayle) of Hurricane, UT and Marlene Martin (Phil) of Clinton, MO; sister, Barbara Epps of Poplar Bluff, MO along with seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
