William Buckalew of Hollister formerly from Oxford, PA and Vandalia, IL quietly went to sleep in route to his heavely home on June 8, 2021. He was the wonderful husband and amazing friend to his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Buckalew. He loved his children and greatgrandchildren; daughter Karen, grandchildren, Chris, Will, Haley and great-grandchildren Willie J. (his special buddy) and Paisley along with his service dog, Marley Sue. He is also survived by his sister, Etta Drabick of PA.
William was born on April 18, 1937. He was the son of the late William and Beatrice Buckalew. He and Dorothy were married on October 14, 1961 in Harford County, MD. They enjoyed traveling, spending time camping, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting in the Pennsylvania mountains. Some of their favorite memories were spending time at Christmas with special friends, John & Mabe Watcher.
William served in the United States Army. He was a life member of Robert Fulton Fire Company before moving to Lancaster Company. He was a long-time member of Union Fire Company in Oxford and former member of Water Witch in Port Deposit, MD. At the time of his death, William was a member of the Omaha, AR Fire Department. He had also been a long-time member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church in PA.
William was also preceded in death by his sisters Jean and Ruth and three infant children.
