Wayne G. Sollis

Wayne Gilbert Sollis, 80 of Hollister, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Cox Medical Center Branson.  Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson with no services planned.

Mr. G was born April 24, 1939 in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Elbert & Clora (Williams) Sollis.  He grew up in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Hollister 25 years ago from Chicago.  He operated Mr. Gilberti’s  Place in Hollister where he served his delicious Chicago-style pizza along with other amazing Italian dishes.  Mr. G always loved to visit and spend time with his customers.  He was a great host as well as a terrific chef.  When he wasn’t working, Mr. G enjoyed fishing the lakes around Branson.

Mr. G was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill Sollis.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Dony of Hollister; daughter, Lisa Delarosa (Otello) of Canada and grandsons, Nicholas and Michael of Chicago.
