Wade Lavon Boyd, a lifelong resident of Taney County, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and a life well-lived.

Wade was born on February 25, 1942, to Chester and Blanche Boyd. He grew up in Taney County and attended Branson Schools, remaining deeply rooted in the community throughout his life.

After high school, Wade worked as a cook at several local restaurants before beginning a long career as a surveyor. He spent over 20 years working with United Surveyors and Engineers. Following his surveying career, Wade worked in maintenance for Grand Crown for many years until his retirement.

In his younger years, Wade was a passionate and competitive bowler. He participated in several bowling leagues, including a special father-daughter league with his daughter Sherrie, earning many awards throughout the years.

Wade’s love for motorcycles was another defining passion in his life. He owned several bikes and trikes, with BMW motorcycles being his favorites. He was an active member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America and the Springfield Road Riders BMW Club, often traveling the country with his motorcycle friends.

The only thing Wade loved more than motorcycles was socializing with his family and friends. Known for being the first to arrive at any gathering and the last to leave, Wade had a remarkable gift for making connections and could always find a friend to talk to for hours. Known for his sharp wit and a knack for good-natured mischief, Wade was the kind of person who never met a stranger and never missed a chance to make someone smile- often at their own expense, and always with love.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Boyd of the home; one daughter, Sherrie Davis and husband Roger of Ava, Missouri; three grandchildren: Ryan Boyd and wife Mariah of Walnut Shade, Missouri; Shasta Doshier and husband Travis of Yellville, Arkansas; Brandon Little and wife Ashley of Reeds Spring, Missouri; Seven Great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy: Adrianna, Kiara, Ethan, Eligh, Calli, Colton, and Madi; one brother, Kenneth Boyd and wife Barbara of Lampe, Missouri; and one sister, Dixie Foster of Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Blanche Boyd; one brother, Stanley Boyd; and three half-siblings: Billy Boyd, Vesta Shephard, and Norma Teague.

A celebration of Wade’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, located at 1638 East State Hwy 76, Branson, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM.
