Trudi Vangalee Smith was born on January 29, 1940 in Pangburn, Arkansas to James & Alma Smith. She grew up in Pangburn and attended school through the 10th grade. On May 13, 1959, she married Kenneth “Bill” Pike in Attica, Indiana. They had three children and Trudi devoted herself to caring for her family. She also obtained her GED in 1978.
Trudi was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Branson West Ward. She served three missions for the church, in Ontario, Canada, at the Family Research Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in Melbourne, Australia. She was committed to serving others which was evident in her volunteer efforts with Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center, Food Pantry and as a greeter at church. She was outgoing, kind, caring and never met a stranger.
Trudi entered into Paradise on May 3, 2024 at the age of 84. Her beautiful presence will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death her parents; husband; one son, K. David Pike; brothers, Austin Smith and Cotton Smith; and sisters, Lucille Adcock and Vaydean Green.
Trudi leaves behind her daughter, Lori Sharp of Kimberling City; son, Austin Pike of Kimberling City, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Trudi’s life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9113 State Hwy 76, Branson West, MO on May 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are requested to the Kimberling Area Senior Center, 63 Kimberling Blvd., Kimberling City, MO 65686.
