Sidney S. Haynie

Funeral services for Sidney S. Haynie will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 9113 E. State Hwy 76, Branson West, MO at 10:00 A.M. with Bishop Gettling officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.  

Sidney Seabury Haynie was born on September 16, 1935 in Douglas, Arizona.  He grew up in Arizona and graduated from Douglas High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State in Tempe.  Sidney proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. 

Sidney married Nora Cluff on December 8, 1954 in Mesa, AZ.  He was an educator and taught 4th and 5th grade and special education.  Sidney was also an entrepreneur.  He moved to Branson from Theodosia, MO.  Sidney belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Branch President.  He was also an Alderman for Ward I in Branson.  Sidney loved people, knowing their story and sharing life with his friends and family.

He entered into rest on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center in Branson at the age of 84.

Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Mary (Udell) Haynie; son Scott Haynie; daughter Nora Lynn Haynie; brother Ether Haynie and grandson Grant Roy Wachob.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Haynie of Branson; children, Sid Haynie (Pam) of Sedona, AZ, Pat Haynie of Cornville, AZ, Dan Haynie (Nona) of Branson, Stacy Schmidt (Rolf) of Branson and Nathan Haynie (Elizabeth) of Branson; brothers, Doug Haynie (Colleen) of North Carolina and Roger Haynie of California; sisters, Roberta Peck of Utah, Darlene Hudson (Darrel) of Prescott, AZ, Sundy Riggs (Rusty) of Arizona, Beth Smith (Bob) of Branson along with 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
