Shirley Lavone Gross, better known as Vonnie, passed away November 5th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Shirley was the daughter of Florene David and Vernon Thurman, and was born on October 30th, 1945 in Marionville, Missouri. She spent her life serving the Lord and those around her. She raised four daughters in the Branson area, acting as the matriarch to a large, God-loving family. She instilled a love of thrifting, board games, word puzzles, and true crime in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Evenings spent with Vonnie were lovingly called “Nana Night.” 

Vonnie loved and leaves behind her children, Tracey (Garland) Dimetroff, Cindy (Kevin decd.) Fraley, Kara (Kris) Hatfield and Lyndsey Gross; her grandchildren, Tanner, Jordyn, Haley, Terra, Lizzie, Patrick, Madison, Konner, Emma, and Luke; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Levi, Makenna, Thea, James, and Laina; and countless other loved ones. 

Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kay; her son-in-law, Kevin; and her beloved puppy, Coco. 

Vonnie’s visitation will be at Victor Baptist Church in Branson on Saturday November 11th, 2023 at 10am. Funeral to immediately follow at 11am.
