Memorial service for Shawn H. Sickler, 54, Branson will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 1:00 PM at the St. Joseph Anglican Church, Branson. Father Jim McTaggart will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield at 3:00 PM. Services and cremation were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
Shawn Heath Sickler was born Nov. 12, 1966 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Judith Sickler and John F. Sickler. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, which he served proudly. Shawn served overseas in Southwest Asia, Germany, Korea and Kuwait. He was in the medical corp and was trained as a cardiac specialist. He served his country for over fourteen years. When he returned home, he still worked in the medical field as an invasive cardiovascular specialist.
Shawn was blessed with one daughter. He was of the Episcopal faith, which he grew up worshipping the Lord. Shawn enjoyed golfing and woodworking in his spare time as well as an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He was preceded in death by his father William Paul “Hoot” Gibson.
Shawn is survived by his daughter Sarah Smith (Jeremy) San Antonio, TX.; his loving mother Judy Gibson of Branson, Mo; his brother Dave Pestle (Victoria) of Nixa, Mo.; sister Lestine Hungerford (Kevin) of Laveen, AZ; his brother Daryl Gibson (Kathey) of North Richland Hills, TX and two granddaughters Ashlynn and Annaliese and a host of nieces and nephews.
