Sammy Kay Hankins (Owens) 74, of Branson, passed on Thursday May 13, 2021.
Sammy was born Oct 29, 1946 in Halltown to the late Sammie and Bonnie Owens. She was the youngest of 3 children and graduated from Miller High School.
Sammy married the love of her life, the late James T. Hankins, May 7, 1966, they were married 50 years.
Sammy was a beautiful woman that dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and attended First Assembly of God Church in Branson. She loved going and working in the nursery at the church and praising the Lord. She had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping others.
She really enjoyed working in her flower gardens, crocheting, quilting, playing any games and being a great hostess. You couldn’t sit down in her kitchen without her running around getting you a drink and something to eat. She was a terrific baker, and anyone will tell you that she preferred desserts to the meal.
Sammy loved reading her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family and friends, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, the very best mother, mamaw and friend, always thinking of others first. She was truly one of God’s great masterpieces.
She is survived by her two daughters, Andria McDowell and husband Scott of Kirbyville, Nanette Parton and husband Tim of Branson, one sister, Joey Serody of NJ, 5 grandsons, Chris McDowell, Trey McDowell, Jesse McDowell, Rhett Parton, Haden Parton and one great granddaughter, Ezra McDowell.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church, 399 State Hwy T, Branson at 11:00 am.
She will forever be remembered for the life she lived and the love she gave.
