Ricky Layne Obituary

Ricky Layne, 56, of Branson passed away March 9, 2021. He was born March 31, 1964, the son of Larry and Donna (January) Layne in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.  Ricky attended school in Gravette, Arkansas and after graduating he attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  He earned his degree in business and went on to run several different hotels then changing over to work at Wal-Mart for many years.

Ricky had lived in Tulsa, Fayetteville, Branson and Olathe, Kansas, but he always kept coming back to the Branson area and permanently kept it home two years ago.  Ricky was eccentric and loved to express that on the outside with his exquisite taste in clothing and shoes.  Ricky also used his flare and artistic talent creating different crafts.  He was always joking around with those around him, but never shying away from speaking his mind.  He was an integral member in working with Hope Tinoco to bring bus tours to Branson and was a vibrant and dynamic tour guide with those tours.  Ricky was one of the brightest members in the Tinoco fan club and a good friend to Joe and Hope and Johnny Tinoco, as well as his beloved God-child Courtney.  Ricky’s passing leaves a void in many lives.  He added to the lives of those around him through his many expressions of love and care for them and making their life richer with joy and fun.

Ricky is preceded in death by his mother Donna and one nephew Kenneth Layne.

Ricky is survived by his brother Shane Layne and wife Janene of Jay, Oklahoma; his father, Larry Layne of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; his adopted family the Tinoco’s; his extended family and friends; and his beloved fan club.

Funeral services will be March 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Branson with Dave Hamner officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. till service time.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Row Cemetery in Colcord, Oklahoma.
