Rickey Gandy passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Branson at Cox Medical Center at the age of 52. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
Rickey Loe Gandy, Jr. was born in Joplin, Missouri on March 21, 1969. He was the son of Rickey L. Gandy, Sr. and Mary A. (Besse) Gandy. He graduated high school in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He met the love of his life, Betty (Nicholson) on the campus of College of the Ozarks. They were married on November 21, 1990 in Miami, Oklahoma and blessed with three children, Rickey, Brandon and Amber.
Rickey had resided in Hollister the last 21 years. He worked at Wyndham Vacation Resorts. He was the life of the party and had a heart of gold. Even though he was stubborn, he loved in a grand way and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved being with his family, especially doting on his sweetheart, Betty. He also loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rickey was preceded in death by his father and two infant sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betty Gandy of Kirbyville; children, Rickey Gandy, III of Kirbyville, Brandon Gandy of Kirbyville, Amber Penny and husband Kyle of Branson; his mother, Mary Gandy of Hollister; brothers Robert Gandy and wife Cathy of Austin, TX, Christopher Gandy and wife Misty of Hollister; sisters, Kimberly Bowman and husband Kenneth of Hollister and Traci Hardin of Hollister; and two grandchildren, Braxten Penny and Hadlee Penny along with several nieces and nephews.
