Richard Wayne Harding was born on February 7, 1945 in Branson, Missouri to James Raymond Harding and Gracie (Dodson) Harding. He graduated from Branson High School before joining the United States Army. Wayne served during Vietnam and after twenty years retired from the Army National Guard.
Wayne married the love of his life, Gloria Clark on December 23, 1965 in Branson. Together, they raised their family in Branson and operated Harding’s Auto Service. Wayne enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting and fishing in his free-time. He played guitar and you could catch him at the Mountain Grove Old School House playing tunes with other local musicians. Wayne was also very community and civic minded. He was a Mason, member of the American Legion and served on the Western Taney County Fire Department Board.
Wayne entered into rest at Mercy Hospital in Springfield on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the age of 75.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harry Harding.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Harding of Branson; son, Jimmy Harding (Chalet) of Branson; daughter, Glowaina VanDolah (Kelly) of Camdenton, MO; brother Russell Harding (Peg) of Forsyth; sister, Ruth Hoover (Leroy) of Highlandville, MO; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 with visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Mountain Grove School House off of T-Hwy at 265 Mountain Grove Rd., Branson. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 P.M. in Mountain Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
