Richard Edward Rogers Obituary

Richard Edward Rogers passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, in Hollister, Missouri. Born on January 30, 1942, in Lead Hill, Arkansas, Richard was an example of steadfast love and tireless work ethic throughout his 82 years of a life well-lived.

Richard graduated Branson High School in 1960 and entered the workforce.  He met Leona Booth on a date arranged by her brother and the two were inseparable from that day forward.  They married on May 20, 1961 beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with love and laughter.

Over the years, Richard worked for various businesses including Railway Ice & Service, Chaney-Holman, and England Sheetmetal. He  established his own construction business, Rogers Construction, and dedicated over 40 years to building homes.

Richard also enjoyed the outdoors.  He found joy in pheasant, deer, and turkey hunting. His collection of pheasant items was a testament to his passion, as were the tales of his hunting adventures. More than anything, Richard cherished the moments shared with his family. He was also a faithful follower of Christ and longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Branson.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Rogers of Hollister; his sons, Rick Rogers (Barb) of Nixa, MO and Howard Rogers (Laurie) of Bergman, Arkansas; his grandchildren, David Rogers (Crissy), Lachelle Honeycutt (Heath), Derrick Rogers (Susan), and Claire Ferguson (Blake); brother, Roney Rogers (Renee) of Republic, MO as well as nine great-grandchildren with two on the way, all who brought him unspeakable joy.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ordial and Ruene Rogers and brothers, David Rogers and Donnie Rogers.

His life will be celebrated with a visitation on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  Funeral services will be Monday, August 5, 2024 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with burial to follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
