Mary Margaret (Alms) Mabe

Mary Margaret (Alms) Mabe was born August 27, 1948 in Rockaway Beach, MO to Garland & Adda (Haas) Alms.  She attended school in Branson and graduated from Branson High School in 1966.  Mary had worked as a bank teller and also at Zenith.  She married Don Mabe on May 30, 1981 in Walnut Shade, MO.

In her spare-time Mary loved to spend time at the creek.  She also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and going to craft shows.  Her favorite holiday was Easter and she enjoyed celebrating with her family.  In fact, family was Mary’s highest priority and enjoyment.  She loved time with her kids and grandkids.  She also spread her love, becoming a foster parent and adopting two children with her husband Don.

Mary entered into rest on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the age of 71 in Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by her husband, Don Mabe of Walnut Shade; son, Kurt Rogers (April Shaw) of Walnut Shade; daughters, Lisa Higdon of Marshfield, Rhonda Sorensen (John Gafner) of Ozark, Stephanie Mabe (Chris Pidruzny) of Branson, Jaiden Mabe and Gracie Mabe of Walnut Shade; brother, Doran Alms (Lynn) of Walnut Shade; sisters, Norma Ross of Branson and Garlena Hankins (Lloyd) of Warsaw, MO; former son-in-law, Brian Sorensen; grandchildren, Jera Shaw, Karlye Rogers, Garrett Higdon, Taylor Higdon, Logan Sorensen, Zack Curry, Aaron Shaw, Sami Mabe, Sydney Mabe, and Jelly Bean Pidruzny; great-grandchildren, Brock, Kayden, Addalynn and Izzibella.

Services will be Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.  Visitation will begin at 2:30 P.M. and the celebration of Mary’s life at 3:30 P.M. with Pastor Ricky Mabe officiating.  Burial will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
