Marilyn Newkirk Obituary

Marilyn Jean (Reynolds) Newkirk was born December 10, 1931 in Bedford, Iowa of Myron T. and Bessie (Cox) Reynolds. She passed into eternal peace on October 31, 2021. Marilyn was married to Donald G. Newkirk in 1950 and was the mother of three children- Dennis, Diane, and Debra. She was a homemaker, a business owner and partner in/of Newkirk Farm Supply Store in Bedford, Iowa. Later having moved to Branson she became a business owner and partner in Dairy Land, Newkirk Realty, the Gift Gallery, and the Gingham Goose. She was a gifted artisan in ceramics, a volunteer with the Chamber of Commerce, and an advisor to many. Marilyn also enjoyed many years of retirement in Mesa, Arizona where she loved to play and watch tennis. Marilyn was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ since childhood In Bedford, Iowa. She was a member of the United Methodist Church here in Branson.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Bessie; a brother, John; a sister, Jane (Davison) and a grandson, Bradley Herndon. She is survived by her three children- Dennis and Suzanne Newkirk of Branson, Mo., Diane Luebke of Springfield, Mo., and Debi and Larry Herndon of Aurora, Mo.,  3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild.

Services will be held at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home in Branson on Monday, November 8, 2021.  Visitation will be from 12pm – 1pm, with the funeral at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Options Pregnancy Clinic in Branson, Mo. or to Skaggs Foundation in Branson, Mo.
