Marie R. Griffin

Marie R. Griffin was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 22, 1926.  She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Carl Schurz High School.  She married Lawrence Griffin on October 28, 1950 and they were blessed with three children.  Along with caring for her family, Marie worked in the telecommunications industry.  She and Lawrence moved to Forsyth 45 years ago from Downers Grove, IL.  Marie enjoyed spending time at the Forsyth Senior Center and was a faithful church member at Our Lady of the Ozarks in Forsyth.

She entered into rest on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the age of 95.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Ross and Marie Ross Wienke; her husband Lawrence Griffin and son Wayne Gregory Griffin.

She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Moore of Westmont, IL and Denise Griffin of Lemont, IL along with four grandchildren, Mark, Michelle, Michael, and Matthew and four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Lucas, Logan, and Brayden.

A Memorial Mass honoring Marie’s life will be held at Our Lady of the Ozarks in Forsyth at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.  Interment will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to Forsyth Senior Center (PO Box 248, Forsyth, MO 65653) where she spent many years as a volunteer and had many beloved friends.
