Funeral services for Linda S. Marshall Flanders, 68 of Branson will be Saturday May 26, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Branson United Methodist Church, Branson. Rev. Bill Ester and Rev. Doyle Carroll will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Mrs. Flanders entered into rest on Wednesday May 23 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
Linda Sue Marshall Flanders was born Nov. 10, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri. She was the daughter of William “Bill” and Irene (Reynolds) Marshall. Linda completed elementary school at Emerson Grade School and graduated from Joplin High School. She furthered her education by attending Missouri Southern for one year and Southwest Missouri State University for three years from which she received her Bachelors of Art degree. Linda also attended St. Paul School of Theology.
Linda Marshall Flanders married Wayne Flanders on August 12, 1972 at the Byers Avenue United Methodist Church in Joplin, Mo. They had celebrated forty-five years together.
Linda moved to the Branson area about six years ago moving from Ulysses, Kansas. She was head of the Children’s Department at Barnes & Noble Book Store in Wichita, Ks. Linda was the 4th grade reading teacher for the Spanish children. She was a member of the Branson United Methodist Church where she took part in the Friendship Class and Bell Choir. Linda was a PEO Member Chapter JR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother B.D. Marshall and a step-sister Mrs. Steve Brown.
Linda is survived by her loving husband Wayne Flanders of Branson and her beagle “Cubby”.
Visitation will be held at the Branson United Methodist Church Saturday May 26, from 9:30 AM until service time.
