Linda Brittain

Memorial services for Linda G. Brittain, 75, Kirbyville, will be Sunday July 30, 2023, at 2PM in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.  Brother Roger Melton will officiate.  Private burial will be held at a later date in the Brittain Cemetery, Kirbyville. Linda entered into rest on July 25, 2023, in Springfield Mo. at the Mercy Hospital.

Linda was born June 21, 1948, in Springfield, Mo.  She was the daughter of George W.  and Loretta F. (Gideon) Schwyhart.  She had attended the Branson school system.  Linda married the love of her life, Michael Brittain on Sept. 2, 1972, at Highlandville, Mo. They had celebrated fifty years together last fall.  Mike and Linda were blessed with four children.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Taney County.  She attended College of the Ozarks and Draughon’s Business College in Springfield, Mo.  Linda worked at the Branson Beacon Newspaper and the Taney County Republican Newspaper.  She will be remembered for the greenhouses that she had every summer and the beautiful flowers she sold. Linda attended the St. James General Baptist Church, in Kirbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mary Elizabeth Brittain, and a grandson Daulton Elliott.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Mike Brittain of the home; two sons Tom Brittain (Lori) of Seligman, Mo.; Josh Brittain (Chassidy) of Kirbyville; one daughter Mia Elliott (Kevin) of Asbury, Mo.; one brother Jim Schwyhart (Linda) of Branson, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many other children who called her Grandma.  

Linda's family will start welcoming friends and extended family after 1:00 PM.
