Leroy Gregory

Leroy James Gregory, age 80 of Hollister, MO, passed away on August 28, 2023 in Springfield, MO.

Leroy was born in Lurton, AR on July 29, 1943 to the late Benjamin and Justine (Berntson) Gregory. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Joyce Raynor, in Harrison, AR, marking the beginning of a wonderful 57 years of matrimony.

Leroy was well respected as manager of a grocery store stockroom, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication. Moving to Branson from Jerome, Idaho, Leroy found joy in simple pleasures. His love for tinkering with cars, woodworking, fishing and gardening were his favorite pastimes. Leroy also enjoyed latch hook needlework. He shared a special bond with his cat, Shadow. Always driven to serve, he was a proud and active member of Mt. Branson Church of God.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Justine Gregory; and siblings, Larry, Richard, Sylvia, and Deloris "Sis".

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Gregory; three children, James Gregory (Kathryn) of Hollister, Kevin Shane of Jerome, ID, and Becky Rice of Boise, ID. Leroy is also survived by his brother Roger Gregory (Brenda) of Springdale, AR, sisters Judy Best (Greg) of Conway, AR and Joyce Gregory of TX, along with twelve grandchildren.

Leroy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered always.

Services will be Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Plumlee Cemetery in Compton, AR.
