He ministered at Victory Mission in Springfield and made monthly trips to Dallas and Memphis to help the unhoused.

Larry also cherished his large and loving family. On August 29, 1990, he married Mary Gardner in Springfield, Missouri.

He went home to be with his Savior on May 25, 2026, at the age of 61.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Tate of Hollister; his daughters, Rebecca Chandler and husband Bryan of Hollister, Mirranda Cardinali and husband Jon of Imperial, Missouri, and Megan Norris and husband Jacob of Merriam Woods; his siblings, Gary Tate and wife Jessie of Hollister, Linda Ellis of Hollister, Mike Tate of Hollister, Bobby Tate and wife Vickie of Owensville, Missouri, and Debra McCullough of Shell Knob; his grandchildren, Tanner, Connor, Brooklyn, Jonny, and Joey; his great-grandchildren, Kinley and Scottie, plus one on the way.
