Larry Frank Tate was born on January 29, 1965, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Spencer and Woneta (Pennington) Tate. He devoted his life to both hard work and dedicated service, farming and serving in many different roles with MFA Petroleum. Above all, his heart belonged to Jesus and to ministry, especially serving people experiencing homelessness. He ministered at Victory Mission in Springfield and made monthly trips to Dallas and Memphis to help the unhoused.
Larry also cherished his large and loving family. On August 29, 1990, he married Mary Gardner in Springfield, Missouri.
He went home to be with his Savior on May 25, 2026, at the age of 61.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Tate of Hollister; his daughters, Rebecca Chandler and husband Bryan of Hollister, Mirranda Cardinali and husband Jon of Imperial, Missouri, and Megan Norris and husband Jacob of Merriam Woods; his siblings, Gary Tate and wife Jessie of Hollister, Linda Ellis of Hollister, Mike Tate of Hollister, Bobby Tate and wife Vickie of Owensville, Missouri, and Debra McCullough of Shell Knob; his grandchildren, Tanner, Connor, Brooklyn, Jonny, and Joey; his great-grandchildren, Kinley and Scottie, plus one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Woneta Tate.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 29, 2026, at Cedar Valley Church in Hollister. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Cedar Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Tate, Bobby Tate, Bryan Chandler, Jon Cardinali, Jacob Norris, and Mike Tate. Honorary pallbearers include Mason Strobeck and Dean Bartlett.
Services are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
