Kristine "Kris" Keen Obituary

Kristine “Kris” Martha (Finke) Keen, 61, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on June 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Kris was born on October 28, 1964 in Walnut Creek, California, to Loretta and Kenneth Finke. She graduated from Las Lomas High School and spent any time that she could pursuing her love of music, especially in singing. Her singing career began at local churches and radio stations. She was then chosen to be a part of The Jeremiah People which led her to tour the US and parts of Europe, sharing her gift and love for Jesus with the world.

She met her husband, Jeffrey “Jeff” John Keen, at Christ Community Church in Walnut Creek where Jeff played the drums. The two fell in love over their shared passion for music and worshiping the Lord.

Kris and her family then moved to Branson, Missouri where she continued to wow her kids and husband with recipes that she “just had in her head.” She also enjoyed maintaining her garden, spending time with her grandkids, and keeping Amazon and DoorDash in business. Kris spent her working years in a variety of fields but was the most passionate when working in roles where she could help those around her. Kris was known for the kindness and generosity that she showed others.

Kris is survived by her four children, Joshua Keen (Aileena) of Ozark, Nathanael Keen (Emily) of Hollister, Molly Thornhill of Springfield, Abigail Keen of Springfield and her seven grandchildren. Kris is also survived by her four sisters and their husbands along with extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Loretta and Kenneth Finke, as well as her husband, Jeffrey Keen.

A small family gathering will take place in her honor. In lieu of a memorial service, the family encourages those who loved her to share their photos and stories of Kris on the tribute wall below.
