Kevin Anderson Obituary

Beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, Kevin Anderson passed away on September 16, 2024 at Cox Medical Center in Branson at the age of 48.

Kevin Leroy Anderson was born December 5, 1975 in St. Thomas, Jamaica to Victor Anderson and Beverley Dixon.  He grew up surrounded by family and friends in Jamaica. Kevin loved the Jamaican culture and music.  He especially enjoyed listening to his favorite Jamaican singer, Professor Nuts. He had great fun playing old Jamaican music and setting up Jamaican sound system parties. Beginning in his teenage years, he worked with his uncle doing construction and became a professional steel worker by trade. Later, for many years, he traveled between Jamaica and the U.S. working different farming jobs.  After moving to Branson, Kevin worked with Capital Vacations at Stormy Point and most recently at Big Cedar’s Wilderness Club.

Kevin was a very intellectual, caring, quiet and spiritual man.  Watching the news, documentaries and informational television, especially topics concerning Jamaica, was something he greatly enjoyed.  Even though he suffered great physical pain, he was always funny, cracking jokes. He never complained and he always maintained a positive outlook not just for himself but encouraged others with his optimism. Kevin was an amazing friend.  He enjoyed talking with friends on the phone and was always willing to help his family and friends with running errands, fixing things or just being supportive or having a listening ear.  He was also a believer in God, man of high morals and prayer warrior.  He will be remembered for his love, his loyalty and the smile he brought to your face when you were with him.

Kevin will be deeply missed by his family; his children, Angerine Anderson of Jamaica, Uralee Anderson of Springfield, MO, Stephanie Anderson, Kevin Anderson and Kevaughn Anderson all of Jamaica; his mother, Beverley Dixon of CT; his siblings, Denese Williams of Branson, Shantel Anderson, Andrea Anderson, Devon Anderson, Hugo Anderson, McKelia Wright and Steven Edwards all of Jamaica; his three grandchildren , Ju’anyah Phillips, Justin Lumsden and Safrone Vernon, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Victor Anderson and brother, Dave Anderson.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 20, 2024 at 4:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory in Branson.  Kevin’s final resting place will be in Jamaica.
