Kenneth Thurman Obituary

Kenneth Wesley Thurman, 73, of Forsyth, MO met his Lord and Savior on May 12, 2021.  He was born in Taney County, MO on July 14, 1947 to Clarence A. and Velma R. Thurman (Morey).

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence Thurman.

Kenneth graduated Branson High School in 1965.  He was a Vietnam Veteran, enlisting in the Navy in 1965 and discharged on April 30, 1971.

Kenneth worked at Omni Products for 18 years and was a very hard worker.  He also worked for 7 years in the Venture Communication Warehouse. 

Kenneth was an active member and served faithfully as a Deacon at Sardis General Baptist Church in Forsyth.  He also served as President of Snapp Cemetery in Forsyth for many years.

Kenneth is survived by his mother Velma R. Thurman of Forsyth; brother Pat and wife Carolyn Thurman of Forsyth, son, J.C. Thurman of Branson; step-daughters, Brenda Hayes Barrett of Memphis, TN and Bernadette Hayes Walker of Pevely, MO; four grandchildren Sarah Oliver, Leah Barrett, Trevor Walker and Faith Walker along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Joshua Johannes and Rev. Sue Clayton officiating.  Burial will be in Snapp Cemetery, Forsyth with military honors by the United States Navy and VVA 913.

Memorials are requested to Sardis General Baptist Church, P. O. Box 1324, Forsyth, MO 65653.
