Judy Eileen Neary

Judy Eileen Neary was born October 19, 1943 in Mondamin, Iowa to Howard Swaney and Ethel (Donnelson) Swaney.  She grew up in Iowa and moved to Branson from Emmetsburg, IA.  Judy gave a lot of herself from her family to her job to her volunteerism.  She cared for the elderly as a vocation, serving the nutritional needs and ensuring a safe food environment for them in different private care and independent living facilities including the Rose House in Branson.  She gave of her time, volunteering with the Taneyhills Community Library and Thrift Shop and Tri-Lakes Community Theatre.  More than anything, Judy loved her family and spending time with them especially her grandchildren.  Judy’s grandkids were her best friends and she loved them so much, playing ball for countless hours and teaching them to drive were just part of the fun Nana Judy had with them.

Judy entered into rest on Friday, March 20, 2020 in Branson at the age of 76.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David, Jim, Harvey and Darwin Swaney and one sister, Jan Jensen.

Judy is survived by her children, Christopher Neary of Branson and Shawn Neary-Curtis of Clever; step-children, Mary Neary of Des Moines, IA and Stacy James and husband Chip of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Denny Swaney and wife Sherry of Blair, NE; three sisters, Linda Scheide of Russellville, AR, Mary Clark and husband Norman of Murrieta, CA and Patricia Goettsche and husband Kermitt of Albuquerque, NM along with her three grandchildren, Ranger Curtis of St, Louis, MO, Gunner Curtis of Springfield, MO and Macee Curtis of Clever, MO. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Directors, Branson.  A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
