Joyce A. Cadwell

Graveside services for Joyce A. Cadwell, 89, of Branson will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.   Mrs. Cadwell entered into rest on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023 at the Copper Rock Health Care Center, Rogersville, Mo.  Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.    

Born in Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs, Ark. to Fred and Ethel (Prickett) Rhiel. She graduated from high school in 1952 and married George Cadwell that same year. They had two daughters, Beth and Mary.

In 1956 they started Cadwell’s Auto Sales in Hollister Missouri, later moving to Branson where they also had a construction business, rental properties and opened Cadwell’s Flea Market in 1983.

She enjoyed time spent with her two daughters, her grandson, her sister and many cousins.

She enjoyed traveling and had visited 48 of the 50 states. Many of her trips were with her long-time best friend, Barbara Leatherman.

She also was an avid garage saler and flea marketer. Her and daughter Beth spent many years going to garage sales in Springfield each week and operating her booth at the flea market.

She is survived by her children Beth Burgess & husband Kenny, Mary Lightfoot & husband Mark, grandson Adam Lightfoot and a few remaining cousins.

She will be greatly missed, as she was a lovely lady.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson, Mo.
