Johnny Odell Manchester, age 64, of Denham Springs, LA died on June 9, 2020, after a long illness and hospitalization in Branson, Mo.
He is survived by his two children, Timothy Manchester of Shreveport, LA and Tiffany Manchester and her wife Carrie and daughter Brooklyn Manchester of Walker, LA.
He was born July 31, 1955, in England, the son of John Manchester and Fannie Mae “Bonnie” Brown. One of 4 children, he is survived by two brothers and a sister; Tony Manchester of Milton FL, Timmy Manchester of Omaha, AR, and Nita Matherne of Plaquemine, LA and their families.
Johnny had a passion for being outdoors and for working with his hands. At an early age, he began working with his uncle framing houses which lead to a life-long career in construction where he was able to teach both his children the craft he so loved and dedicated himself to, allowing his passion and strong work ethic to live on through both his children. He was a diehard LSU fan who loved an ice-cold beer and a good ribeye steak. He will be missed by all and never forgotten. Rest easy Daddy. Kiss Momma for us.
A memorial service will be announced on a later date, once final arrangements are made. He will be laid to rest with his late wife, Sonya Marie Guilbeau Manchester in Denham Springs, LA.
Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org
