Joan A. Glunt Obituary

Joan Arlene Glunt, loving wife, cherished mother and adored grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Walnut Shade, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 6, 1936, in River Rouge, Michigan, and leaves a legacy of love, faith and joy from her 88 years of life.

Joan was the beloved wife of William Glunt, to whom she was married on August 24, 1957, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Their beautiful union brought forth a loving family including their daughters, Linda (Peter) Falconer and Mary Bailey; and sons, Bill and Matthew Glunt. She treasured her grandchildren, Peter, Michael, Christina, Thadeius, and Tristan, as well as her nine great-grandchildren. Joan's brother, Frank Fobar, also survives her. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Stella Fobar; her son, Michael Dean Glunt; brother, Wayne; sisters, Jean, Carol and Theresa; and grandson, Aiden Glunt.

Joan’s education was completed in Dearborn, where she graduated from high school and was quickly hired by the Veterans Hospital as a secretary at the age of 17. Her dedication to secretarial services defined her professional career.

Joan loved being a mother, guiding her children with love and being active in their lives helping with Girl Scouts and camping together during their youth.

Joan and her sister Jean were affectionately known as "partners in crime," sharing endless hours of laughter and companionship. Joan also loved the companionship of animals, and had a special affection for pugs. She enjoyed working puzzles, crafting, and listening to music in her free time. Christmas was a season Joan adored and never missed the opportunity to watch QVC's Christmas in July programming. Above all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart's delight.

In November 2019, Joan and Will relocated from San Diego to Walnut Shade, Missouri.  Joan was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson.

Rosary services will be Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson.  Interment will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
