Jerry Lee Brown was born on February 15, 1940 in Ventura, California. He was the son of Robert Herman Brown and Clara P. (Blecha) Brown. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Air Force. He then worked as a police officer with the Oxnard, California Police Department. He moved to Galena from Camarillo, California in 1996. On December 26, 1998 he married his sweetheart, Lynn, in Laughlin, Arizona.
Jerry was a big Rams football fan and was cheering on their undefeated season. He also was a wonderful karaoke singer and had such fun going out and singing. He enjoyed hunting as well. Jerry was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church in Galena and was a faithful Sunday School teacher.
Jerry entered into rest on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 78.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Brown of Galena; his mother, Clara Hyde of Somis, CA; his children, Bob Brown of Somis, CA, Eric Pritchett of CA, Collette Moran of Austin, TX, Stephanie Perdue of Austin, TX, Tamara Young of TX, Barbara Massey of Galena, MO and Rebecca Pritchett of Waynesville, MO; along with fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 12 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. in Cedar Ridge Baptist Church, Galena. The celebration of Jerry’s life will take place on Saturday, October 13 at 2:00 P.M. at Cedar Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Keeter officiating. Burial will follow in Y Cemetery, Galena with military honors.
