Jerri Rogers Obituary

Jerri Ann Rogers, 60, of Louisburg, Kansas left us on April 13, 2023; with her soulmate, Brian Reese by her side. She was born to Juanita Mae Edwards Howland and the late John David Howland, Sr. on December 02, 1962 in Kansas City, MO. She had known Brian since she was 12 years old.

Jerri lived her life as a free spirit pursuing many different passions. She received a B.S. Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo in 1984 and a B.S. in Graphic Arts from The University of Central Missouri in 2003. She worked as a Marketing Representative in several different venues and enjoyed photography, music, collecting elephants and gnomes. Jerri loved music and amazed family and friends with her ability to recall the words to so many songs. Singing with the worship team at Knox Presbyterian Church was one of her favorite memories. She went on several mission trips with the church to Thailand and felt blessed to have served.

In addition to Brian Reese, Jerri Rogers is survived by her Mother: Juanita Howland (Hovendick),  Raytown, Missouri; Three children: John Rogers, Overland Park, Kansas; Sydney Rogers, Kansas City, Kansas; Merrick Schofield, Holloman AFB, New Mexico; Sister: JJ Crater, Independence, Missouri; Brother: John Howland, Montgomery City, Missouri; Nephew: Philip Portier, Blue Springs, Missouri; Niece: Sarah (Tracey) McDaris, Arden, North Carolina; Great Nephews: Austin and Jacob McDaris, Arden, North Carolina, Great Niece: Lilly McDaris, Arden, North Carolina; Uncle: Robert ( Elaine) Edwards, Honea Path, South Carolina; Aunt: Thelma Pearl See, Montgomery City, Missouri; Uncle: (Roy) Phelps, Grandview, Missouri; Plus dozens of cousins. Jerri was thrilled when joining the Hovendick family, she had an additional seven brothers and seven sister- in–laws.

She was preceded in death by her Father: John Howland; Grandparents: Ruth and Thomas Ray Edwards; Lenore and Percy Howland; Aunt: Wilma Phelps; and Step-Father: Robert K. Hovendick.

Jerri has been blessed with many good friends, who have added much joy to her life.

Throughout her journey with cancer, Jerri has requested that friends and family remember the joyful times and not grieve over her passing. Think about the times that made you smile or laugh out loud when you talk about her.
