Jeffrey Keen Obituary

Jeffrey John Keen was born in Denver, Colorado on December 16, 1954. Until his last day, he had no working knowledge of the Kardashians, nor rappers Li'l Baby, Da Baby and the rest. In spite of that challenging cultural deficit, he lived a fun and passionate life with his friends, family and Almighty God. His Colorado childhood was full of piano, guitars, drums and singing. He, his family and friends enjoyed music, laughter, and plenty of hi-jinks. After graduating from Englewood High School, where Jeff excelled in the musical and theatrical arts, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business and psychology from the University of Colorado.

His career took him from Colorado to Chicago then Walnut Creek, California where he found a relationship with his Heavenly Father as well as the love of his life, Kristine “Kris” Finke, whom he married on November 27, 1987. Shortly thereafter, the young couple started building their family and by 2000 they had four beautiful children whom he loved without condition.

Jeff and Kris moved to Branson, Missouri from Greenfield, California in 2005. Ultimately, Jeff became the general manager of the Best Western Landing View in Branson and was adored by his staff and guests alike. He was also a member of Bloom Church in Branson. He thoroughly enjoyed being on the golf course and was grateful to God for the pass he received for the language used there. Quite often, he was engrossed in his (60+) fantasy sports teams.  He also shared a very warped, crazed passion for the Denver Broncos, San Francisco Giants, and Chicago Cubs with his brother, wife, and kids. But nothing gave him greater joy than his family and his relationship with Jesus. He will be deeply missed by the family he loved, cared for, and cherished.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Edd Keen.

He is survived by his wife, Kris Keen of Branson and his children, Joshua Keen (Aileena) of Ozark, Nathanael Keen (Emily) of Hollister, Molly Thornhill of Nixa, and Abigail Keen of Springfield as well as his six grandchildren.  Jeffrey is also survived by his mother, Ruth Longbons of Evansville, IN and his brother, Daniel Keen (Kimberly) of Nashville, TN and half-sister Maria Keen of Denver, CO along with extended family and many friends.

Jeff passed away on Saturday, February 27 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield at the age of 66. A celebration of Jeffrey Keen’s life will be held on March 13, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
