Harry Thomas Hodges, Jr. was born July 15, 1935 in Manhattan, Illinois to Harry Hodges, Sr. and Ann (Warner) Hodges. He attended school in Illinois and after completing high school, he served in the United States Navy from September 1953 to November 1954. He served in the Navy Reserves for two years after his active duty service. Harry worked for 23 years as a lineman with Illinois Bell. He moved to Branson in 1976 from New Lenox, IL near Joliet. He operated an embroidery and screen printing business with his long-time love, Margaretha Clark. Harry loved time with his family and working in his yard. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harry entered into rest at his home in Branson on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the age of 85.
He was survived by his love, Margaretha Clark of Branson who passed away hours later on December 18. He is also survived by his sons, Randy, Rusty, Joel, Scott and Jeff Hodges; one brother, Chet Hodges; grandkids, Gina Romaine, Kyle Hodges, Jessica Kuxhaus, Jason Hodges, Chris Hodges, Ally Hodges, Baley Carpenter, Austin Hodges, Miles Hodges and Michael Scott Hodges along with great-grandkids, Caleb, Coleton, Carly, Ayden, Guiliana, Hannah, Alahnah, Emma, Chris Jr., Norah, Logan, Charlee and Ryder.
A celebration of Harry and Margaretha’s life will be January 9, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Harry will be interred Monday, January 11, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery, 1702 E. Seminole St., Springfield, MO with full military honors by the United States Navy and Veterans of the Ozarks of Kimberling City, MO.
