A Celebration of Life Service for Gregory Brian Walker, 74 of Kirbyville, Missouri, will be held Monday, July 5th at 5pm at the Ozarks Serenity Club in Branson, Missouri.

Greg was born in New Jersey on March 23, 1947 to the late Ethelredis (Kane) and the late William Walker.

He passed at home Friday, June 18, 2021 surrounded with love by family and friends after many miracles and a hard fought 30 year battle with congestive heart failure. 

Greg loved God and Family. His life centered on his wife of 54 years, Sherryl Lee (Locke) Walker of Kirbyville; first daughter, Jennifer K Walker-Flowers and husband, Michael, and her children, Bryce Gregory Walker and Brooke Amanda Sams, and her step children, Morgan and Carrie Flowers of Kirbyville; second daughter, Melissa Marie Ryan, her husband, Jeff, and their children, Brenna Marie (Ryan) Brust and husband, John, and William Britt Ryan all of Harrison, AR; third daughter, the late Amanda Lee (Walker) Aucoin, her children, Rhett Quenton Aucoin III, Savannah Rae Aucoin, and Faith Annabella Walker, all whom Greg and Sherryl lovingly adopted when Amanda passed young. Greg was a proud great-grandfather to Tristan, Amanda, Emma, and Bonnie.

Greg is also part of a huge family of brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces far too abundant to list that he loved dearly and maintained relationships with no matter the distance.

Greg served our country at the Malstrom Airforce Base, as a communications specialist while starting his family and earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Great Falls, MT. He valued education and returned later in his life to earn an MBA from Drury University of Springfield, MO. Greg was a thinker and had a natural talent for construction working most of his life as a general contractor. From his first small church project to his final six story concrete/steel structure, he poured 50 years of passion and energy into creating quality commercial buildings and homes. Greg had the rare ability of being able to conceptualize and communicate in abstract, making him invaluable as the facilitator between architects/engineers and developers. He was confident and knowledgeable and took great pride in leadership and service through humility. 

Greg served as a founding member of the Ozarks Serenity Club, touching the lives of too many to count both directly and indirectly. He was passionate about reaching out to anyone needing a path to recovery. Through much prayer, Greg felt both led and determined to achieve a permanent location for recovery programs to grow. Greg’s own recovery path of 25 years has been instrumental in achieving this goal. His service will be both valued and greatly missed.

A day will be scheduled at a later date in the fall to carry out Greg's wishes near a tree that he planted beside a pond that he built in a field that he often dreamed in.
