Georgine Wilma Cummings

Georgine Wilma Cummings (89) of Walnut Shade, MO passed away Saturday June 1, 2019 at Point Lookout Nursing & Rehab. Georgine was born December 14, 1929, daughter of Ralph and Maggie Boswell. Georgine married on December 28, 1948 to Melvin Cummings.

Georgine worked many years at Forsyth Lumber and cleaned cottages for Puchta’s Resort in Rockaway Beach and Sammy Lane Resort in Branson. But most honorably, she lived a legacy to be proud of through her love for God and as a caregiver of several elderly people in her community to also include caring for her mother and Aunt Mabel in her home. Georgine enjoyed helping people have a better life and giving back to those in need. She loved her family unconditionally and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. There are many ways to give back and care for others, but a true legacy comes from making someone’s life better and Georgine touched many lives over the years through her sincerity and passion for life and holds a special place in so many hearts.

Georgine was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, son Farris, two grandkids, eight brothers, two sisters and her parents Ralph and Maggie Boswell.

Georgine will be fondly remembered by a number of family and friends. She is survived by five children (Willie Cummings of Jefferson City, MO; Wilma Brown of Branson, MO; Martha and Reggie Fausett of Walnut Shade, MO; Darrell Cummings of Walnut Shade, MO and Carol and Kevin Lawson of Rockaway Beach, MO), 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; Brothers Gifford and Violet Boswell, and Carl Boswell both of Chillicothe, MO..

Family, friends and others whose lives Georgine touched are invited to Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home (1638 MO76 Branson, MO 65616) on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm for Visitation and Healing River Worship Center (265 Oak Ridge Rd, Walnut Shade, MO 65771) on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1pm for the Funeral Service. Memorials can be made to Oak Ridge Cemetery Fund (PO Box 6442 Branson, MO 65615).
