George Lawrence Poulos was born on November 6, 1957, in St. Louis, MO to George L. & Maxine (Hudgens) Poulos. After a life filled with enjoyment, love, and an admirable journey of personal growth, George passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023, in Hollister, MO.

George's formative years were spent in St. Louis, where he attended local schools and later, community college.  He had a long career as a waiter, working many years with Captain Bills in St. Petersburg, FL where he lived and at various Branson restaurants after moving to Hollister.

Above all, George's incredible journey of sobriety, marking 20 years, demonstrated his strength and inspired all who knew him. As an active and cherished member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he dedicated himself to supporting others in their paths to recovery.

A true sports enthusiast, George enjoyed all types of sports and played hockey. He loved the water and serene life while living in St. Pete's Florida as well as lake activities around Branson. His passion for the Rolling Stones was only rivaled by the love and laughter he shared with his family.

George is survived by his children, Amy Brown & husband Aaron of St. Louis, Eleni Poulos of Hollister, Sam Poulos of Hollister, three grandchildren; and sisters, Donna Byerlotzer & husband Jim and Jeanne Grisham & husband John. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Steve Poulos and one granddaughter.

A celebration of George’s life will take place in the coming weeks.  Cremation arrangements were in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory.
