Gail Dixon

Memorial service for Gail Dixon (88) of Kirbyville, will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory of Branson.  Pastor Paul Michel will begin the memorial service at 2:00 PM.  

Burial will follow the memorial service at the Mincy Cemetery of Mincy, Mo.  

Visitation will start at 12:30 PM, and continue until the memorial service begins at 2:00 PM.. 

Gail entered into rest on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021 at her home with family present.

Gail Ann Dixon was born February 4, 1933 in Kansas City, Mo to parents Stance and Mamie (Rose) Schudy.  The family returned to the Hollister area when Gail was 12 years old, where she attended and graduated from Hollister High School in 1950.  Gail attended and graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing with a RN nursing degree in 1954. She then worked at the St. John's St. Louis hospital before returning to the area and working at Skaggs Community Hospital of Branson.

She met Carl Dixon and they were married Jan. 7, 1956 at Point Lookout, Mo.  Gail and Carl were blessed with three sons (Steve, Sam and Stew).  Many people will remember Gail as the Taney County Health Department nurse, a job she retired from in 1993 after 25 years of service.  During this time she also worked with Dr. Mary Long in the "Well Baby Clinics"; served as a board member and officer of the "Lakes Area Counseling Service"; served on the Taney County ambulance board and supported the Red Cross blood drives.

Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her loved ones, but she also enjoyed square dancing and RV camping.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stance and Mamie and her loving husband Carl.

Gail is survived by her three sons; Steve Dixon (Pattie); Sam Dixon; Stew Dixon (Beth) all of Kirbyville; two brothers Bud Schudy (Jean) of Sacramento, Calif.; Jim Schudy (Susan) of Kirbyville, Mo.; five granddaughters, Gina Van Horn (Jordan), Stefanie Guzman (Alonso), Raechel Hayden, Madison Dixon and Hannah Dixon and one grandson Austen Wicks; four great grandchildren Hayden Marshall, Mason Cody, Emma Guzman and Wesson Guzman.
