Floyd Elliott, Jr. Obituary

Floyd Elliott Jr., 60, was born in Kansas City, KS on November 28, 1959 and passed away in St. Louis, MO on November 10, 2020. Floyd is remembered with love by wife of 17 years Liz Elliott, son Floyd Elliott III of Kansas City, MO, step-son Jared Hoffpauir and wife Joanna and their children Nicole (19) and husband Zachary (21), Averie (17), Elena (15), Bailey (13), Aiden (10), Blayne (8), Rowan (5), Evalyn (3) of Nixa, MO, step-son Evan Hoffpauir and wife Madison and their children Arlo (6), Bannon (4), Dawson (2), and Silas (2 weeks) of Branson, MO, brother John Elliott and wife Pam and their two children of Belton, MO, sister Cindy Elliott of Mesa, AZ, and father-in-law C.J. Spell of Westlake, LA.

Floyd was preceded in death by father Floyd Elliott Sr. of Kansas and mother Shirley McKain of Kansas, and mother-in-law Zelma Spell of Westlake, LA.

Floyd resided in Kirbyville, MO where he worked as a compliance officer for Summerwinds Resorts and Capital Vacations. Floyd enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, playing poker with friends, operating HAM radio as a licensed amateur, watching hockey, playing fantasy sports, attending concerts and listening to live music—especially Elton John, enjoying a fine steak, hosting explosive 4th of July parties for his 12 grandkids and family and friends, spoiling his furbaby K.C. Renee, taking Sunday drives with Liz, and last but not least was his vibrant passion for Kansas City Chiefs football. One of the highlights for Floyd this year was when he got to witness his Chiefs win Super Bowl LIV surrounded by family in his home, exactly what he wanted.

Floyd’s strength was one of his character traits that stood out the most and it wasn’t any more evident than in his four-year fight against cancer. Even though treatments and hospital visits were a part of his last years it wasn’t what defined them. Floyd made it a goal to continue to work diligently in his career up until his very last days, take drives in his new-to-him convertible with Liz, go on a few trips, spend as much time with family as he could, and live to see his 12th grandchild come into the world on November 1.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 13th from 6:30 to 7:30pm with a funeral service on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00am both at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory at 1638 East State Highway 76, Branson, MO, 65616.
