Everett Collins Obituary

Everett Eugene Collins, 86 of Hollister, entered into rest on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home.  Memorial services and interment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield will be held this summer.

 

Everett was born to Roy & Martha Collins on July 16, 1934 in West Port, Indiana.  After finishing high school, Everett enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.  In 1956, he was discharged from the Air Force at Larson Air Force Base in Washington.  Everett married his sweetheart, Elizabeth Lacey on August 22, 1954 in Morristown, Indiana.  Together they raised five children and enjoyed a life that took them from Indiana to Texas, Arkansas and finally, Missouri.  Everett worked much of his life as a land surveyor for Clay & Lyndecker in Katy, Texas.  After retiring, he was able to enjoy more time with his family and playing golf.

 

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Calvin Cecil Collins and one sister Betty Lou Wilkerson.

 

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Collins of Hollister; children, Richard Collins (Sandra) of Virginia Beach, VA, Bionca Gambill (Christopher) of Terre Haute, IN, Gary Collins (Sandra) of San Jose, CA, Dorell Collins of Magnolia, TX and James Collins (Kelli) of Bentonville, AR; two half-brothers, John Furbay (Cherri) of Cincinnati, OH and Jerry Furbay (Mary) of Harrison, IN along with nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
