Donald Hayt Obituary

Donald Darwin Hayt was born December 2, 1923 in Dewey, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Floyd & Viola (Loveall) Hayt.  He married the love of his life, Lois Lowry on July 25, 1942 at the Assembly of God Church in Bartlesville, OK. 

Donald worked for the Dewey Portland Cement Company in Dewey, OK and moved with the company to Tulsa, OK. He served his country in the United States Army during WW II for two years serving in Bougainville, Solomon Islands for 16 months.

Donald from ages 12-15 enjoyed and took great pride in being a Boy Scout earning several badges. He also like watching and cheering on the OU football Sooners.  Donald was a believer in Jesus and he read and studied the Bible faithfully. Jesus was his greatest love.  Donald and Lois loved going to church and serving the Lord.  They loved being with family.  They also loved to travel.

Donald went to Heaven on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from Mercy Hospital in Springfield at the age of 96.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois; brothers, Doyle and Bobby Jean and sister Jane Lewellen.

Donald is survived by his children, Donald Hayt, Jr. of Reeds Spring, Pamela Baker of Reeds Spring and Sheila Gardner and husband Jim of Kimberling City along with grandchildren, Beverly Hayt, Dwight Hayt, Gregory Hayt, Mark Hayt, Dwayne Baker, Lee Baker, Timmy Baker, Jimmy Gardner, Shane Gardner and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, 1638 E. Hwy 76, Branson, MO with full military honors.
