Dennis Ruskin Welch was born November 5, 1951 in Saint John, Kansas. He grew up in Willow Springs and graduated from Willow Springs High School. Dennis loved sports. He played all sports in high school, and especially enjoyed baseball, basketball and football. His enjoyment of sports continued into his adult life, and he played on different leagues with softball, basketball and bowling. As much as he loved playing sports, he also enjoyed watching sports, including his children and grandchildren’s games, local high school games, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and C of O Bobcat basketball.
Dennis was the Postmaster at Kirbyville Post Office for 35 years and had driven a mail route before becoming the Postmaster. After retiring from the postal service, he enjoyed a few quiet years and then went back to work, driving a golf cart and delivering items to visitors at Wyndham resorts. Dennis was also a member of the Church of the Harvest in Branson.
Dennis married his loving wife Rhonda at Sardis General Baptist Church in Forsyth in 1990. They shared lots of love and fun together before her passing. Dennis was also preceded in death by his father, Vernal Ruskin Welch.
