Darlene P. (Bernhardt) Curry

Darlene Pearl Curry was born on September 17, 1931 in Greeley, Colorado.  She was the daughter of John Bernhardt and Katie (Reiter) Bernhardt.  She married Travis Curry, Sr. on December 18, 1949 in Greeley.  They were blessed with seven children.

Along with being a wonderful mother, Darlene worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk.  She loved reading and playing bingo.  She also was very good at needlework, sewing and cross stitch.  She had resided in Branson for 27 years, moving here from Denver, Colorado.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Dan Bernhardt, Sam Bernhardt, Rueben Bernhardt, Lydia Dill, Molly Kaiser, Rosie Patterson, EllaMae Brunz, Leora Berryman, Lillian Bernhardt and Jean King, her husband, Travis Curry, Sr., and children, Travis Curry, Jr and Barbara Ritesman.

She is survived by her children, Diana Davis and husband John of Nixa, MO, Kathy Peregrino of Branson, Cheryl Schade and husband John of Nixa, John Curry of Thornton, CO and Melissa Curry of Thornton, CO along with nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in Union Hill Church of Christ, 865 N. Nicholas Rd, Nixa, MO 65714 with Pastor Steve Martin officiating.  Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. on January 10.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
