Services for Catherine E. Cronin will be held in the National Cemetery, Springfield, MO at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 23, 2019. Catherine entered into rest on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home in Kirbyville at the age of 86.
Catherine Ellen Cronin was born on May 3, 1933 in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of Ed & Jennie Loofburrow. She grew up in Washington and attended school there before moving to California. In California she married her husband Clarence and they raised their family. She was a fabulous cook and loved taking care of her family. She was able to work in the school cafeteria in California using her talents and affording her time with her family. She and Clarence also had a great group of friends in California they enjoyed spending time with. In 1977, upon retirement, Catherine and Clarence moved to Missouri. Catherine got what she called her favorite job, cooking at the School of the Ozarks, now C of O, cafeteria. She loved being around the college kids and her time at the school. Catherine was also a talented artist. She loved to paint in her free time and took pointers from her favorite PBS artist, Bob Ross.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clarence L. Cronin; son, Charles “Chuck” Cronin; daughter Connie Mullins; brothers, Homer & wife Anna Loofburrow, Dale & wife Billie Loofburrow and Johnny Loofburrow; and sisters, Betty Loe and Helen and husband Estelle Meyers.
She is survived by her son, Clarke Cronin of Kirbyville; grandchildren, Mike Cronin and wife Teresa, Stephen Cronin and wife Yvet, Cari Albert, Anderson Cronin, Joseph Cronin and wife Sarah, DeAnna Mullins and Billy Joe Mullins; daughter-in-law Joyce Cronin; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Loofburrow and Clara Beth Barker and brother-in-law, Bill Loe.
In Catherine’s memory, donations may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757.
Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
