Memorial services for Carolyn Jean Cook, 89, of Omaha, AR, will be held at the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, 1638 East Highway 76, Branson, MO at 10 a.m. on April 25, 2026. Brother Kevin Mackey will be officiating.
Carolyn Cook passed away peacefully, in Frisco, Texas on March 21, 2026. Carloyn was born on February 1, 1937, the daughter of Author Bruns and Vivian (Murray) Bruns. She graduated from nursing school. She was a RN to the surgical wings in several states, a supervisor in a maternity ward, and supervised the night shift at a children’s behavior unit. Carolyn moved to Omaha, AR with her husband, Larry (deceased) in 1983. She was a member of the Branson Church of Christ. She loved working with the young children during Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Zans, of Sebastian, FL; son, Tracy Cook and wife, Amanda of Prosper, TX; granddaughters, Vivian “LaRee” Chitwood and husband Brandon Chitwood and Rosalie Cook, and grandson. Dawson Cook; and great-grandson Declan Chitwood, and her sister, Sharon Mirabile, along with many nieces, nephews. She is preceded in death by herHusband, James “Larry” Cook.
