Carl Chaney Obituary

Services for Carl Chaney, 84 of Windsor, will be Friday, November 6, 2020 at First Assembly of God Church, 399 State Hwy T, Branson, MO.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. and the service at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Vanderlaan officiating.  Burial will follow in Edwards Cemetery, Kirbyville.

Carl Lee Chaney was born on February 1, 1936 to Lee & Nezzie Chaney. He grew up in Taney County and graduated from Forsyth High School.  He attended trade school to be a mechanic and worked for a dealership in Nixa.  He later worked in the tent and awning business for Welhener in Springfield before moving to Kirbyville and working as an installer and repairman with the phone company.

Carl was a member of Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Aurora.  He was an excellent woodworker and built beautiful cabinets.  He had a real green-thumb in the garden growing vegetables.  Carl also enjoyed watching his favorite things on television like westerns, car shows and anything with bluegrass music.

Carl entered into rest on October 29, 2020 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives JoAnn and Viola; son Bruce Chaney; daughter Lola Ann Chaney; step-son, Joe Isley; brothers, John Chaney and Paul Chaney; and grandson, Joshua Chaney.

Carl is survived by his wife Bertha Chaney of Windsor; son, Darrell Chaney of Aurora; daughter, Susan Chaney of Marionville; step-children, Thomas Bothwell (Cindy) of Centerview, Daniel Bothwell of Carthage, Donna Powers of Windsor, Dana Bishop of Windsor, Virginia Bothwell of Windsor, Judy Price (Walter) of Aurora, Jean Haddock (Junior) of Cassville, Rick Isley of Knob Noster and Randy Isley (Jenise) of Shell Knob; daughter-in-law, Teresa Chaney of Aurora; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and numerous step-great grandchildren.  He will also be missed by his extended family and friends.
