Beloved wife and mother Betty Welborn 72, of Hollister passed away August 26, 2025. Betty was born May 26, 1953 in Madison, Illinois to Harold and Ehtel (Pleimann) Fouts. Betty was one of three children growing up in Madison where she finished school before meeting Eugene “LeRoy” Welborn and marrying him in 1973 in Illinois and starting her loving family.
Betty enjoyed being a mom to her three children and wife to LeRoy. She loved to travel and spend time in different places accompanying LeRoy on cross country trips from their home in South Dakota to Parks in Florida and to their stays in Branson. Betty was a valuable member at the local theaters working in the ticket office of The Haygoods, The Baldknobbers, and various other theaters that needed her help. When she wasn’t working, she was enjoying a good time watching the area shows in Branson. She enjoyed RVeeing, which meant she could take in summers back in South Dakota where enjoyed laughs with friends and take in natures beauty. In the winter months she and LeRoy traveled to Florida to see close family. It was the spirit of Betty to be out and enjoying life. She had a courageous side which emboldened her to fight a bitter battle for four years with cancer that brought even greater meaning to her valued relationships with family and friends.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her beloved husband LeRoy, three sons Brian (Robin) of Florida, Michael (Katy) of Ohio, Andrew (Sarah) of Texas, a brother Bob (Vicky) Fouts, sisters in-laws Jeanette Divietro, Sanita Divietro, brother in-law Donald (Shirley) Welborn seven grandchildren as well as other close family and friends.
Betty will be going home to her parents Harold and Ethel and her sister Judy Vespa.
Service to honor Betty will be held September 3 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M till service time at the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson, Missouri.
